FAQs | ClickUp Services

1. Do we need to already be using ClickUp to work with you?

No. Our implementation packages can set up your workspace from the start, or review and improve an existing one rather than rebuilding everything. Only the ClickUp Support & Maintenance Retainer assumes ClickUp is already in place.

2. How long does an implementation take?

ClickUp Foundation takes a minimum of 4 weeks, while ClickUp Essential and the AI Operations Accelerator take 4 to 6 weeks. The AI Operations Transformation runs 6 to 10+ weeks because of its broader scope. We confirm the timeline during discovery, based on your workflows and the package you choose.

3. What's the difference between a custom AI Skill and a Super Agent?

A custom AI Skill is a reusable set of instructions built around one of your processes, so a task is handled consistently each time. A Super Agent is set up to take on a specific kind of work in your workspace. We agree which skills and agents fit your business during discovery.

4. Can we try AI without committing to a full implementation?

Yes. The AI Operations Starter lets you assess one use case and put a focused solution in place, including 1 custom AI Skill, 1 Super Agent, and a 90-minute session. It's designed for businesses exploring a contained AI use case rather than a full workspace or operational rebuild.

5. How do ClickUp Essential and the AI Operations Accelerator differ?

Essential pairs a well-designed workspace with a focused set of AI tools: 3 to 5 custom AI Skills and 1 to 2 Super Agents. The Accelerator goes further, with advanced process mapping, up to 20 automations, 5 to 10 custom AI Skills, 1 to 3 Super Agents, up to 3 integrations, and basic AI governance. Essential suits teams introducing AI without a larger transformation, while the Accelerator suits businesses with recurring handoffs and disconnected tools.

6. How is AI use kept under control in our workflows?

The AI Operations Accelerator includes basic AI governance, and the AI Operations Transformation includes comprehensive AI governance. In practice, that means agreeing how AI is used in your workflows and where a person reviews its output. ClickUp Foundation doesn't include AI features, so it doesn't involve this.

7. How is post-launch support different from a monthly retainer?

Post-launch support is the fixed period included with every implementation: 14 days for Foundation, 30 days for Essential and the Accelerator, and 60 days for Transformation. A monthly retainer picks up after that period, covering ongoing ClickUp support, project management, senior delivery leadership, or marketing strategy. You can add one whenever it fits your needs.

8. How do I choose between a Project Manager and a Senior Project Manager?

The Project Manager retainer keeps day-to-day work moving through planning, stakeholder communication, risk and resource coordination, and progress reporting. The Senior Project Manager retainer adds project leadership, risk management, and executive reporting for more complex initiatives. A useful test is whether your main problem is coordination, which points to a project manager, or uncertainty about delivery, which points to a senior one.

9. Does the Marketing Strategist retainer include creating our content and ads?

The retainer covers marketing planning, campaign guidance, and AI-supported reporting. Specific channels, campaign volume, creative production, and execution responsibilities are agreed separately, so it isn't automatically a done-for-you content or ad service. Tell us what your team already handles and we'll scope the engagement around it.

10. What should I prepare before the free consultation?

Bring a rough list of the tools you use today, where work slows down, and what you'd like to improve. You don't need a finished plan, since we review your tools, processes, and pain points during discovery. The consultation helps us point you to the right starting package.
